- Our College 25th-anniversary Silver Jubilee and Annual Sports Day
- Marking a significant milestone in its academic journey, our Shanmuganathan Engineering College in Arasampatti celebrated its 25th-anniversary Silver Jubilee and Annual Sports Day on Saturday, April 25. The event was highlighted by an inspiring keynote address from National Award-winning filmmaker Pandiraj, who felicitated student achievers.
- The ceremony commenced with a formal welcome by the college Principal, Dr. KL. Muthuramu. Dr. G.Maheswaran, Dean of the institution, offered his felicitations, while Dr. Pitchappa Manikandan, Correspondent of the college, presided over the function and delivered the presidential address. The event was held in the presence of Director (Admin) M. Pichappa and Secretary M. Viswanathan.
- Addressing a captivated audience of students and faculty, Chief Guest Mr.Pandiraj shared a deeply personal narrative of resilience. Drawing from his own life, he emphasized that unwavering focus is the primary engine of success.
- "If you decide to progress in life, you must never retreat from your goal. I stand before you today as living proof of that persistence," the director remarked.
- Recalling his early hardships, Pandiraj revealed that he faced a period where pursuing a college degree after the 12th grade seemed impossible. He spoke candidly about enduring 15 years of ridicule and setbacks.
- "I faced mockery and insults with a smile, carrying the pain but never letting go of my ambition. Ultimately, I answered my critics through my success. I chose to shoot my debut film in my hometown—the very place where I was mocked—specifically to prove my potential. That film went on to win a National Award," he said.
- Encouraging the youth to shed their inhibitions, the director noted that hesitation and shyness are the greatest roadblocks to achievement.
- “You know your strength better than anyone else. Do not be deterred by the opinions of others. Every drop of sweat and every hour of planned labor will inevitably yield results. The pain you endure today is the chisel that will carve your future.” he added.
- The inspirational session was followed by vibrant cultural performances by the students. The event saw the participation of department heads, professors, and a large number of students. The day concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Ajith, the Physical Education Director.
