The Anti-Drug Committee conducted an Awareness Programme on the "Ill Effects of Drug and Alcohol Consumption" on 6th December 2024 at the seminar hall.
The session commenced with a warm welcome address by Mr. Kannan, Assistant Professor, Department of Science and Humanities (S&H). This was followed by an impactful lecture by Dr. S. Saravanakumar, Convener of the Anti-Drug Committee and Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Dr. S. Saravanakumar highlighted the severe effects of drug and alcohol abuse on physical health, mental well-being, and social relationships.
Dr. E. Mohan, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, delivered an insightful talk on the harmful consequences of substance abuse, further emphasizing the need for awareness and prevention.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from first-year students, who actively engaged in discussions and gained valuable insights. Faculty members, Class coordinators and members of the Anti-Drug Committee, also participated and collectively took an Anti-Drug pledge.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. Nalini, Assistant Professor, S&H. The programme successfully achieved its objective of educating and raising awareness about the adverse effects of drug and alcohol consumption.
