    "Ill Effects of Drug and Alcohol Consumption"

  • The Anti-Drug Committee conducted an Awareness Programme on the "Ill Effects of Drug and Alcohol Consumption" on 6th December 2024 at the seminar hall.
  • The session commenced with a warm welcome address by Mr. Kannan, Assistant Professor, Department of Science and Humanities (S&H). This was followed by an impactful lecture by Dr. S. Saravanakumar, Convener of the Anti-Drug Committee and Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Dr. S. Saravanakumar highlighted the severe effects of drug and alcohol abuse on physical health, mental well-being, and social relationships.
  • Dr. E. Mohan, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, delivered an insightful talk on the harmful consequences of substance abuse, further emphasizing the need for awareness and prevention.
  • The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from first-year students, who actively engaged in discussions and gained valuable insights. Faculty members, Class coordinators and members of the Anti-Drug Committee, also participated and collectively took an Anti-Drug pledge.
  • The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Mrs. Nalini, Assistant Professor, S&H. The programme successfully achieved its objective of educating and raising awareness about the adverse effects of drug and alcohol consumption.
