First-Year Inauguration Ceremony 2026

• The inauguration ceremony for the newly admitted first-year engineering students for the academic year was celebrated in a grand manner at Shanmuganathan Engineering College on Monday, August 31, 2026.
• The event commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by the First-Year Coordinator, Dr. N. Vennila. The Principal of the college, Dr. K. L. Muthuramu, presided over the function and highlighted the institution's commitment to academic excellence. Warm felicitations were offered by key management dignitaries, including College Correspondent Dr. Pichappa Manikandan, Director (Admin) M. Pichappa, Secretary M. Viswanathan, and Dean Dr. A. Murugappan, who encouraged the incoming batch to aim high and utilize the campus facilities effectively.
• Renowned Tamil Pattimandram orator and academician Prof. Dr. Manonmani graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and delivered an inspiring keynote address to the students and parents. In her speech, she emphasized that true success in life begins with showing deep respect to parents and teachers. She reminded students that securing a college seat for their children is a monumental dream for parents, urging the youth to remain conscious of their parents' hard work, financial sacrifices, and emotional investment.
• Highlighting national development, Dr. Manonmani stated that the younger generation holds the key to transforming India into a global superpower, stressing that age is never an obstacle to achieving greatness. She cautioned students against succumbing to unwanted distractions during their crucial academic years and urged them to actively hone their inherent talents alongside their formal education, noting that the modern world actively seeks multi-skilled individuals.
• Furthermore, she advised the incoming batch to choose good companions in this new campus environment, strictly adhere to road safety rules while riding two-wheelers, and maintain a lifelong thirst for learning.
