Legal awareness camp
- The Legal awareness camp was held on 17-09-2025 at Shanmuganathan Engineering College,organized by the Taluk Legal Services Committee, Thirumayam. Dr. N.Vennila, coordinator of the first-year program, welcomed all attendees to the camp. Mr.C. Sasikumar, Chairman, Taluk Legal Services Committee and Sub-Judge, Thirumayam presided over the event. In his address, he said: "Every Indian citizen must be aware of the law. No one can escape accountability for an offense by claiming they were unaware of the law. To safeguard everyone's legal rights, our judiciary, through the Legal Services Committee, offers various forms of free legal aid without any fees. It is crucial for students, who are the responsible citizens of tomorrow, to have a thorough understanding of the law.
- The Taluk Legal Services Committee is always ready to help women, children, senior citizens, people living in poverty, and anyone else seeking legal assistance. You can resolve not only various social issues but also family-related problems through the law. In our country, the law is the same for everyone, without any discrimination. Everyone can meet with Legal Services Committee members to receive free legal aid to uphold their legal rights. Students must convey this message to all sections of society." Mr.S.Gopala Kannan, the District munsif cum judicial Magistrate of Thirumayam, delivered a special address. Dr. KL. Muthuramu, Principal delivered felicitation address. Thirumayam Government Advocates Mr.Karunanidhi, Mr.Manoharan and Mr.Murugesan also participated and provided legal insights.
- Finally, Dr. M.Varadarajan, Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, delivered the vote of thanks. The camp was attended by a large number of students, heads of all departments, professors, lawyers, and court staff.
