Shanmuganathan Engineering College

A special Guest lecture, organized by the Department of Civil Engineering at our Shanmuganathan Engineering College, was held today, November 6, 2025.
The Head of the Civil Engineering Department, Dr. Selvakumar, welcomed all the attendees to the event. The Principal of the College, Dr. KL. Muthuramu, presided over the function and delivered the presidential address. Ms.Muthukannaal, Assistant Professor in the Civil Department, introduced the special guest.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Dr. S.Thirugnana Sambandam, Professor from the Department of Civil and Structural Engineering, Annamalai University, Chidambaram. He delivered an insightful lecture titled “Concrete: A Versatile Master ”.
In his address, Dr. S.Thirugnana Sambandam elaborately explained various aspects, including: * The importance of the field of concrete. * Its special characteristics and applications. * The latest advancements and modern developments happening globally in the concrete industry.
The ongoing research and studies in this domain.
A large number of students and professors from the Civil Engineering Department participated in the lecture. Finally Selvan.Sabarivasan, the Secretary of the Civil Department Forum delivered the vote of thanks.
